   | A: The total drive time is 6-7 hours as from Rishikesh the camp is about 200 kms Q: How much time will it take from Delhi? A: It is best to do this journey over 2 days, if you are travelling by Road. One can also do it in one day if you are prepared for a long 12-14 hours journey. Rishikesh is 250 kms from Delhi, and it takes 6-7 hours to reach Rishikesh from Delhi. You can come via train to Haridwar and then proceed by road journey as well Q: How about drinking water? A: There is pure natural spring about 0.5 kms from the camp in Chopta, the water is sourced directly from there. The water is then filtered through PureIt (Hindustan Lever, water filter) and used for drinking purpose. Q: Is there electricity at the camp? A: No, Solar LED lanterns or kerosene lanterns will be provided Q: What about meals, is there non-veg meal available? A: Yes, both Veg & Non-Veg meals are available at the camp. Q: When is the best time to come? A: This is an all year round campsite, and different season have their own charm. It depends on your preference. For Guide on Seasons check out our Facts & Getting There section Q: The treks available at the camp are suitable for what age group A: The treks to Chandrashila & Deoriatal are suitable for all age groups and require only a few kms of treks. We make all arrangements for camping equipment as well as meals there. It is expected that you carry your own personal back pack and travel light. Additional porters can also be arranged at a very reasonable cost for girls or kids. Q: What is the best season to trek around the region? A: As mentioned earlier Chandrashila & Deoriatal can be done through out the year with the exception of monsoon. In winters, the season is best for spotting wildlife and birds and playing in the snow. Come prepared. The season after monsoon i.e from Sept to December you can have clear snow views and the meadows are quite green. After winters, when the ice melts the meadows look brown and in spring the trees in the whole region look myriad shades of orange, blue & yellow. Summers are quite cool as well. Sun is quite strong here so a Sun screen is a must. Q: Is Chandrashila Snow Trek suitable for all? A: It snows upto 3-4 feet on this trek and snow conditions vary. When there is light snow, then the walk is very pleasant. While if there is heavy snow then special precautions are required. Under heavy snow conditions, special winter trek gear is a must like snow boots, gaiters, gloves, woolen socks and cap, with good jacket. We can provide you with a list of important personal clothing items that must be there with you on this trek. Access to the Chopta is also blocked in winters, special 4 wheel drive can also be arranged. Q: What will we provide on the Winter Chandrashila Trek? A: On the trek, we will provide services like special winter camping gear, including tents, sleeping mats & sleeping bags suitable for the conditions. Cook & porters with professional guide will also be made available. Any additional trekking gear like snow stick, etc will also be provided if the conditions demand so. What we are expecting that personal clothing will be brought by the guest, while trekking equipment will be our responsibility. We can also help you arrange these personal clothing on rent at a very reasonable price. Q: Will it be too cold to come in winters? When the sun is shining, then it is quite pleasant and you can be very comfortable. The night temperature fall below zero in winters. The camping is fully equipped to keep you warm in winters as well. However, it will be very cold and good warm personal clothing is a must. You must discuss with us your personal winter clothing before booking your trip with us. Without it, you will not be able to enjoy the nights over there. Q: What is the personal trekking equipment that you can provide?
