Driving Direction to Nubra Valley, Ladakh
An early morning start from Leh is advisable, although the distance is close to 130 kms but the scenery is so breathtaking & if you are fond of photography then we can assure you that, you will end up moving very slowly. You would want to get down and take pictures, again and again. And you will be passing through Khardung La which is the highest motorable road in the world. Although,the road condition is mostly good except between when you start you ascent from South Pullu, to the top of the Khardung La and then your descend down to North Pullu. Your permits will be checked and entry made in the army register at South Pullu and then again when you descend down to North Pullu, where again your permits will be checked.
Driving Directions From Leh to Nubra Valley( 131 kms ) : Drive time roughly 6-7 hrs
- Leh - Khardung La ( 51 kms ) - roughly 2.30 hrs
- Khardung La - Nubra Valley (80 kms ) - roughly 4 hrs ( this includes stoppages for photography, tea, etc )

Seasons: Nubra Valley is the high altitude desert and one has to cross Khardung La which is at 18,500 ft. So the best season to see this magical place is the monsoon season from July to September. The region of Ladakh is a cold desert and receive very little rainfall as compared to rest of India.
